The
mission of The
Jade Foundation is
to benefit and improve the lives of young people (birth to
age 22) in Minnesota who are in distress or coping
with physical, emotional, or mental challenges.
The
Jade Foundation
raises
money directly in the community for grants to other
tax-exempt organizations in Minnesota which help children
with physical, cognitive, and/or emotional disabilities,
and to children affected by drug or alcohol abuse,
violence, and/or poverty.

Once
more, The Jade Foundation partnered with Wishes & More
as a Bronze Sponsor of their 2012 Valentine Ball. We
underwrote a young lady's Scholarship of Hope.
****FIVE
NEW GRANTS GIVEN!****
The
Jade Foundation ended 2011 with a bang, awarding grants to
the following five wonderful nonprofits helping Minnesota's
young people:
--
Children's Lighthouse of Minnesota, a group of very caring
folks working to build the first hospice for children with
terminal illnesses in MN. www.childrenslighthousemn.org
--The
Twin Cities Chapter of PlayWorks, which trains folks to
visit schools in urban, lower-income neighborhoods to coach
kids in safe, inclusive play during recess. They've
achieved some really amazing results so far!

--Advocates
for Developmental Disabilities of Steele and Waseca
Counties, based in Owatonna, which has a variety of support
programs for young people with DD and their families.

--VSArts
of MN, which works to bring arts participation to young
people with disabilities. www.vsamn.org

Wishes & More, which grants the wishes of MN kids
(birth to 22 years) with life-threatening conditions. They
also provide memorial gifts to the families of kids who do
not live to see their wishes granted, AND college
scholarships to wish kids who continue their education
after high school.
